NZ Government Web Standards - Working and Advisory Groups
Web Standards Working Group
The role of the Web Standards Working Group is to represent the interests of users, guide development of the New Zealand Government Web Standards and Recommendations and moderate the New Zealand Government Web Standards wiki.
Web Guidelines Working and Advisory Groups
The State Services Commission established a Web Guidelines Working Group in August 2005, and a Web Guidelines Advisory Group in September 2005.
The Working Group is responsible for continually reviewing the NZ Government Web Standards. This includes exploring the emerging WAI standards in relation to the NZ environment, to decide whether we will adopt or adapt them. The Advisory Group provides a Quality Assurance role, by reviewing the documents produced by the Working Group.
The work of the Working and Advisory Groups is ongoing, with the initial review of the Web Guidelines divided into two phases.
The first phase was completed Sept 05 – Dec 05, and delivered Agencies a self-audit checklist including examples where possible.
The second phase included public consultation in September 2006, and was completed in Feb 06. This phase delivered an in-depth review of the Web Guidelines and produced the NZ Government Web Standards and Recommendations version 1.0.
