NZGLS thesauri - Updates

FONZ and SONZ Updates

July 2008

After completion of a research survey and review, updates to FONZ and SONZ have been put on hold indefinitely. The survey showed that, now they are no longer used by the New Zealand Government portal, their main value is as a starting point for more specific vocabularies. Accordingly, the existing versions will remain available in their current forms, along with a translation into XML format.

March 2007

The NZGLS standard, including the FONZ and SONZ thesauri, is currently under review. Pending this review, suggestions for new terms are being considered by the Thesauri Steward (State Services Commission) and, if accepted, published in a list of candidate terms on this webpage. No new terms will be officially added to either of the thesauri until the review is completed and we have a clear picture of their future use.
