6 Combination of name and address (xNAL) overview

A combination of name and address structures (xNL and xAL) produce xNAL.

There are two main elements in xNAL: Record and PostalLabel
(see Figure 10).

The Record element should be used when there is a generic combination of names and addresses. For example, it may be used for a list of family members with a list of their addresses for the last 15 years.

Element PostalLabel is a combination of names and addresses with some specific elements for postal purposes. The PostalLabel element may be used for addressing purposes. This element covers a variety of possible name/address combinations, including when the addressee is not known or not known by name (for example, Attention CIO), or known by a dependency (for example, Mr Luc Ifer QC, in trust of Edem Ltd.).
