XNAL Working Group updates
The xNAL Working Group comprises representatives from (amongst others) Land Information New Zealand, Ministry of Economic Development, Department of Internal Affairs and New Zealand Post.
The most recent activity undertaken by the Working Group was to update the NZ xNAL Guidelines. These were first published as a final draft in August 2003. After 12 months experience of organisations using the Guidelines, Revision 1.0 was published in July 2004 taking into account feedback from organisations using the standard.
The Working Group reviews agency feedback on implementing the standard and Best Current Practice (BCP) published in the XNAL FAQs. The group also overviews developments at OASIS and in other jurisdictions overseas. These learnings are fed back into the next revision of the guidelines.
The Group is always looking for new members with xNAL implementation skills and experience to bring to the work. If your organisation would like to play a part in shaping this standard's future in New Zealand, email the e-GIF Custodian at e-GIF@ssc.govt.nz for more details.
