Role of SSC
In response to comments from Working Group participants in 2003, the SSC EGU has increased its focus on marketing, promotion and relationship management. The change in focus reflects the growing operational nature of the e-GIF.
The SSC EGU has led some working groups and encouraged agencies to lead others. This is unlikely to change. Several important lessons have been learned with respect to familiarization, resources and best practice schema development.
SSC has positioned itself as facilitators in the promotion, development and setting of e-GIF standards and best practice guidance.
