S.E.E. Directory - Final Report

This document describes business-level policy, architecture and reference schema for an electronic Directory to facilitate generic business applications in the core public service agencies.

Overview

The Secure Electronic Environment (S.E.E.) Project is developing the infrastructure necessary to enable public sector organisations and ministries to work together electronically and securely. The S.E.E. Directory will be used by S.E.E. member agencies in generic e-government applications, such as the shared workspace.

During May 2001, the S.E.E. Directory sub-project team was tasked with developing business-level policy, architecture and reference schema for an electronic Directory to facilitate generic business applications in the core public service agencies. Their final report is published so that others may benefit from this work.

From 2002 the S.E.E. project will use a prototype Open Source Directory to gain valuable experience in the implementation and usage of a Directory for minimal outlay. This presents a viable starting point deferring the need to select a particular Directory vendor.
