2005 Survey - Purpose
2005 Survey - Purpose
The aim of E-awareness 2005 is to summarise and report current and future e-initiatives that agencies have recently completed, started or are likely to begin before June 2006. The survey is not intended to elicit in-depth detail or specific information about individual e-initiatives and data exchanges.
E-awareness 2005 is the third such survey of Public Service departments and non-Public Service departments. The survey questions were consistent with the June 2007 goals of the E-government Strategy and the current work programme of the State Service Commission's ICT Branch [The E-government Strategy and programme were previously managed by the E-government Unit of the State Services Commission. The e-government website -www.e.govt.nz- continues to provide information on New Zealand's e-government activities] .
During 2004, the EGU conducted a thorough assessment of agencies' alignment with the June 2004 goals of the E-government Strategy. The resultant report, Achieving e-government 2004: A report on progress towards the E-government Strategy covered similar information to the E-awareness surveys, but in considerably greater depth.
This report is structured around the three questionnaires that comprised E-awareness 2005. The four appendices contain the tabulated results and data used for charts and analysis.
