Authentication RFI summary published

23 February 2004

The E-government Unit advertised a Request For Information (RFI) for the Authentication for e-government solution in November 2003.

The purpose of the RFI was to open a dialogue with industry and other communities of interest, to ensure to the maximum extent possible that industry input and comments were given proper and due consideration in development of the authentication design.

A total of 24 responses were received. The respondents ranged from software development companies to service providers to communities of interest and were received from a mixture of New Zealand and international organisations.

This report summarises the information received in response to the RFI.

When this work is completed, Cabinet will make a decision on how and when to implement online authentication.
