The UK Treasury has committed itself to spending 10 per cent more than last year on Internet projects that aim to improve public service efficiency. Top of the list of projects are:
- 3.6 million pounds to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport for the creation of an online tourism community.
- 3.0 million pounds for Kent County Council to develop online payments, bookings, fault reporting, and information dissemination.
- 2.9 million pounds to Liverpool City Council for a licence and permission request system.
- 2.7 million pounds to the Home Office (Police) for an e-learning solution.
