Americans flock to government sites

A recent US survey reports that 68 million Americans have used government websites, and increase of 28 million on two years ago. The survey estimates that 42 million people used government sites to research policy issues, while 23 million people used them to send comments to government officials. Around 14 million people also use the sites to gather information on voting, while 13 million used them to participate in online lobbying.
The study also indicates that 80 percent of users sought data on recreational
information on government sites, with 53 million using sites to help plan their
