- Take-up
- The extent to which electronic government services are available online and are currently used by people.
- Technology Neutrality
- Agencies are to ensure a range of technology options are considered, and as far as possible to avoid 'vendor capture'.
- Thesaurus
- A controlled list of vocabulary terms which an author selects from to create a value within an element record.
- Token
- A physical device used in the authentication of an individual. A type of 'Key', usually held in the possession of the individual. Examples include USB tokens or smart cards.
- Transaction Strength
- This is the level of confidence an agency requires in an online transaction. For example, a low strength transaction may only require an acknowledgement via email that a service request has been received, a high strength online transaction may require many of the factors related to non-repudiation of a transaction.
- Transport Layer Security (TLS)
- TLS guarantees privacy and data integrity beween client/server applications communicating over the Internet. TLS is the successor protocol to Secure Socket Layer [SSL], created by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for general communication authentication and encryption over TCP/IP networks.
- Trojan
- A destructive computer program disguised as something benign. Example: an emailed program that tells jokes and also steals passwords. Trojans provide another way for viruses and spyware to proliferate.
