- Hacker
- A person who understand the "ins and outs" of computers, networks, and the Internet in general. The term generally refers to a person who has intent to access a computer system without authorisation.
- Hardware
- Physical parts of a computer or communications system, as distinct from software. Hardware refers to objects that you can actually touch, like disks, keyboards, and printers.
- Home page
- Often a person or organisation's main web page which provides links to different parts of the site.
- Hyperlink
- An area on a web page that, when clicked on with a mouse, will transport the user to another Web page. Also called "links" hyperlinks are analogous to hypertext. Hyperlinks are commonly used on the Web to provide navigation, reference and depth where published text cannot. A hyperlink can be created from text or from a graphic.
- Hypertext
- Text that uses links to provide navigation among web pages or documents. The use of hypertext is a way of presenting information in which text, sounds, images and actions are linked together in a way that allows you to jump around between them in whatever order you choose.
- HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
- HTML is the authoring language used to publish hypertext on the World Wide Web. It is a non-proprietory format which can be created and processed by a wide range of tools. More information is available here.
