8. Encoding schemes

Type- NZGLS category

John suggested to the group that NZGLS should loose category refinement and have an encoding scheme.

Action: John and Neil to write up a proposal for a Type encoding scheme.

Action: EGU to write a statement on what their business needs are for Type.

The encoding scheme for Mandate has been further refined with input from Pleasance Purser (Parliamentary Library) and Michelle Edgerley (DPMC). The scheme covers a wider range of legal instruments than may be required for the Portal, but the document may have an additional value as a single-point guide to standard referencing practices.

Action: John to circulate the encoding scheme for Mandate so the group can think about some applications for it.
