e-GIF Contents

Although the emphasis of the e-GIF until now has been on technical standards, it is intended to cover policies, standards and guidelines. With the inclusion of the Web Guidelines, more procedural matters are being covered, such as contracting for web hosting services.

From the point of view of government agencies, technical standards need to seen in the context of business processes. The diagram below shows how standards, processes and services fit together and proposes the extent of e-GIF coverage.

This shows that e-GIF has a lot to say about the manner of use of technology, something to say about the business processes involved and also about the way in which services are supported by these processes and technology.
