5 Who does the accreditation?

5.1.1 Decision paper 1 says that the SSC's E-government unit should manage the accreditation of CAs, but it does not say who should do the accreditation.

5.1.2 We propose that initially accreditation should be conducted by the SSC's E-government Unit with assistance from the S.E.E. PKI team (currently including staff from The Treasury, the SSC's E-government Unit, the Government Communications Security Bureau).

5.1.3 If the load of accrediting CAs becomes burdensome, much of the accreditation process could be outsourced, however it would be educational for the S.E.E. PKI team to experience the process first-hand before considering outsourcing this work.
