10 Links to other projects

10.1.1 Other projects underway including S.E.E. Mail, the Shared Workspace, inter-operability, directories and GUIDE share similar governance funding and ownership issues.

10.1.2 Inter-operability: S.E.E. PKI will be one of the inter-operability standards and will have a high impact and high compliance cost on other projects.

10.1.3 Shared Workspace: the shared workspace will probably be a flagship user of S.E.E. PKI. The need for the shared workspace to work with non-public servants affects the scope of this project.

10.1.4 S.E.E. Mail: the S.E.E. Mail system uses certificates to encrypt and authenticate email traffic. These certificates could be migrated to use S.E.E. PKI. In future, S.E.E. Mail will need to be able to interact with desktop secure email using the S.E.E. PKI.

10.1.5 Directories: certificates need to be associated with individuals in a directory, although this could feasibly be a different directory from the one created by the Directory project.

10.1.6 All other content applications requiring authentication of public servants rely on this project. This includes the Legislation system and any future Cabinet system.

10.1.7 All of these projects need to be considered together when dealing with major ownership and funding issues, and for this reason would ideally report to the same governing body.
