Purpose of this document
This document provides government agencies [ The term agency is used to refer to New Zealand government departments and Crown entities.] with updated information about GoProcure, the all-of-government e-procurement solution. The information will assist agencies to prepare become GoProcure participants.
Six government agencies are implementing and using GoProcure in the First Phase which runs to November 2003. A further approximately 85 agencies are expected to progressively implement GoProcure in the Operational Phase starting in December 2003.
Agencies not involved in the First Phase can use this time to prepare for the implementation of GoProcure in their agency. Experience and knowledge gained by the First Phase agencies will be shared to assist the implementation planning of other agencies.
Next steps
Further information about GoProcure will be available to you in meetings with the project team from the E-government Unit of the State Services Commission (SSC), discussions with other agencies, demonstrations of GoProcure and periodic newsletters. Your feedback is welcome and is important to the project.
A key early step in the implementation of GoProcure is for you to respond with the Letter of Intent (attached as Appendix A), indicating the GoProcure option that suits your agency's circumstances and your preferred implementation time. This will enable us to schedule your agency into the plan for the Operational Phase roll-out, and arrange extra material and meetings to help your agency prepare for implementation. We will discuss the Letter of Intent with you.
