SEEMail version 2 upgrade complete

8 September 2004

As of the third week in August, all 40 government agencies using SEEMail are now running version 2.

The move to SEEMail 2 means that any new agencies joining the network can be automatically and seamlessly incorporated. There is no disruption to agency email traffic when the membership list is updated, so agency business can continue securely and efficiently.

SEEMail2 is a low maintenance, low cost means of ensuring that government agencies can exchange emails in a secure fashion.

The scalability of SEEMail2 also means opportunities for participation by a wider community of agencies so, for example, it can be rolled out to Crown entities.

The growth of membership means an increasingly networked government. Two large agencies are currently in the process of joining; when they come aboard there will be over 45,000 SEEMail users.

As a tool for business continuity, SEEMail delivers integrity, authenticity, confidentiality and non-repudiation of email between SEEMail members.
