GOVIS 2002: emerge

September 2002

July saw this year’s Government Information Systems Manager's Forum (GOVIS) conference, opened by Minister of State Services Hon Trevor Mallard, build on the success of previous year’s events. The ‘emerge’ theme recognised the continued emergence of information technology within government and the ‘e-merging’ that e-government is achieving with collaborative cross-agency projects like the government web portal.

More than 50 sessions over three days in Wellington included keynote presentations on the soon to be launched government portal, the opportunities ahead for e-government, how local government has taken up the e-government challenge, as well as overseas speakers from Tasman and Hong Kong.

Conference details are available on the GOVIS website and E-government Unit presentations are available on this site.
