Summary

There are two sets of requirements imposed on agencies by e-government – mandatory and discretionary:

Mandatory

Departments must give effect to requirements of the following Cabinet minutes:

  • Online Authentication
  • Revised E-government Strategy
  • Government Web Standards (formerly Government Web Guidelines)
  • Funding Process for e-government Initiatives
  • New Zealand e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF)
  • Domain Name Moderation
  • Information Security
  • Trusted Computing and Digital Rights Management
  • Monitoring Regime for Major Information Technology (IT) Projects

Crown agents must give effect to the following whole of government direction:

Discretionary

Agencies are encourage, as part of their implementation of the e-government strategy, to meet requirements relating to:

  • Government Shared Network
  • All-of-government web portal
  • SEE PKI
  • SEEMail
  • Shared Workspace
  • Trusted Computing
  • e-Awareness information sharing on the e-initiatives wiki
  • Governance of all-of-government ICT Operations
