Summary
There are two sets of requirements imposed on agencies by e-government – mandatory and discretionary:
Mandatory
Departments must give effect to requirements of the following Cabinet minutes:
- Online Authentication
- Revised E-government Strategy
- Government Web Standards (formerly Government Web Guidelines)
- Funding Process for e-government Initiatives
- New Zealand e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF)
- Domain Name Moderation
- Information Security
- Trusted Computing and Digital Rights Management
- Monitoring Regime for Major Information Technology (IT) Projects
Crown agents must give effect to the following whole of government direction:
Discretionary
Agencies are encourage, as part of their implementation of the e-government strategy, to meet requirements relating to:
- Government Shared Network
- All-of-government web portal
- SEE PKI
- SEEMail
- Shared Workspace
- Trusted Computing
- e-Awareness information sharing on the e-initiatives wiki
- Governance of all-of-government ICT Operations
