Government Leaders Forum
About
Government Leaders Forum was formed in 2001 under the name 'Agency Leaders Forum.' These forums have since been redeveloped, bringing them in line with demand and opening them up to a wider audience.
New Zealanders used to accessing highly personalised, responsive services and information are likely to expect government services to be customised to their needs and accessible in a way that is convenient to them. Technological change is inevitable and the State Services Commission is leading the way in recognising and meeting the challenges this poses.
These forums provide the opportunity to learn from other's experience and hear multiple views on the topics covered. We aim to challenge current thinking and perspectives.
To achieve transformation we need to lead, support and connect. Government Leaders Forums provide an excellent opportunity to participate and collaborate.
Topics
Each forum focuses on one of the e-government work streams.
The work streams are organised around the three characteristics of success for e-government:
-
Convenience and satisfaction
-
Integration and efficiency
-
Trust and participation
Topics are high level and do not go into detail in the technical aspects.
The forums typically start with a keynote speaker, followed by an interactive panel made up of representatives from various agencies and organisations. We ensure that all speakers are subject matter experts. The forums conclude with a light lunch and informal networking session.
Who should attend
Government Leaders Forums are relevant for second and third tier managers of State Services and the wider State Sector, particularly CIOS, IT and Business Managers.
Agenda
The next forum will be Wednesday 18 June, more details will be uploaded shortly.
